Ms. Bhavana Rakesh serves as Axiom’s Chief Executive Officer. She has a valuable blend of strategic vision, a big-picture perspective, analytical expertise, and commitment to achieving objectives. Ms. Rakesh has built a customer-first approach and inspires employees to improve services to the customer continuously. Bhavana brings close to 20 years of experience in the Federal Government Sector in technical innovation and program management support. Under her leadership, Axiom has expanded its client base while maintaining a focus on customer satisfaction and employee welfare.
Bhavana has a Bachelor‘s of Science in Electronics and Instrumentation Engineering. She is an alumnus of George Washington University with an M.S. in Information Systems.
Mr. Rakesh Peter serves as Axiom’s Chief Operating Officer, focused on project delivery and operations covering Civilian and DoD programs. Rakesh brings over 24 years of experience in the Commercial and Federal Government Sectors in large scale program delivery and operations. Before co-founding Axiom, Rakesh served in various key project leadership roles. Customers supported include State of Kentucky, startups in the Silicon Valley, Carefirst BlueCross BlueShield, Department of Commerce (DOC), Department of Navy and various non-profit organizations. Rakesh has helped implement the “quality is key” core value by heading the quality assurance and customer relations program at Axiom. He has helped Axiom achieve CMMI Level 3 for Development and Services in addition to ISO 9001: 2015 certifications.
Rakesh received his Bachelor’s in Mechanical Engineering from India and Masters in Business Administration from the University of Arizona. He holds professional certifications as a Project Management Project Professional (PMP) and Certified Scrum Master (CSM).
As Chief Delivery Officer, Sheema oversees Axiom’s operations from a total performance and resource optimization viewpoint. She drives efficiencies across the organization by analyzing successful practices and results at the corporate and project levels, as well as the practices of our teaming partners, and determines how to infuse that uniformly across Axiom’s enterprise. Sheema brings a foundation of positive organizational and management strategies from her career as a United States Air Force (USAF) officer. Her expertise in meteorology supported Warfighters in the field, coupled with her strategic planning in support of USAF satellite programs, provides a critical understanding of how to utilize science data for operational success. Sheema’s program management expertise leverages her oversight of large programs and organizations, budget management ($50M+ annually), and personnel management to unite responsible programmatic controls with technical savvy to drive innovation and results.
Sheema holds both MBA and B.S. degrees from Temple University, fortified by Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.
Dave McCarren joined Axiom following a distinguished career in both the United States Navy and Federal Service. Dave’s leadership in science-dependent environments ensured research and data analyzing weather prediction models supported critical operations, as well as decision-makers and meteorologists, for the National Weather Service, Air Force, and Navy. Most recently, he served as the Chief Scientist for the Office of the Oceanographer of the Navy. He served as the Federal Coordinator for Meteorological Services in a detail to NOAA where he coordinated operations and research across 15 Federal Agencies. He also brings senior leadership experience through his role as the Executive Officer of the College of Marine Studies at the University of Delaware and the Delaware Biotechnology Institute.
Dave’s experience was formulated through his education, which includes a M.S. in Physical Oceanography and Meteorology from the Naval Postgraduate School and a B.S. in Geological Sciences from The Pennsylvania State University.
